Dr. Cosmin Vasile is a Romanian lawyer and arbitrator based in Bucharest. He is managing partner of Zamfirescu Racoți Vasile & Partners and head of the firm’s Arbitration Department, with practice experience of 20 years as counsel and 10 years as an arbitrator. He has sat in over 50 arbitration proceedings as chair and arbitrator, providing legal counsel to both government institutions and private companies in high-value disputes held under the auspices of numerous arbitral bodies or rules. Mr. Vasile regularly arbitrates disputes relating to construction, infrastructure, capital markets, privatization and energy.

In addition to his recent appointment to the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators, he is a CIETAC and CICA arbitrator and acts as a member of several arbitration institutions including the just launched SCC Arbitrators’ Council, the IBA Arbitration and Dispute Resolution Committees, and The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London. Cosmin publishes and lectures regularly on arbitration related matters and is one of the initiators of the Bucharest Arbitration Days conference series.
